About Dr. Garcia

Let's start from the beginning

I was born in Havana, Cuba, and as such, I speak Spanish fluently. (¡Hola!) My parents moved to Canada over 25 years ago so that my brother and I could have a better future. I was 18 years old when my family landed in Montreal on a very cold December day. I completed high school in Toronto and my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. I then moved to London, ON, for my medical studies, where I spent the next 11 years in medical training (4 years of medical school, 5 years of residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and 2 years of fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility). There, I became a doctor, completed my residency training, and became a fertility specialist. I also met the love of my life and my best friend, and we married and welcome two children into our lives.

My two children are the light of my life. They were conceived through the miracle of IVF after many years of struggle and every day I marvel at the incredible gift that they are to me. I also have a fur baby that follows me everywhere I go. I am part of the 5 AM club because I am an introvert who needs a lot of alone time to recharge. My favourite way to start the day is very early in the morning with a cup of coffee and my journal. During my downtime, I love to play board games with my kids, read a book, or watch a good movie. I love nature, and hiking is one of my favourite activities while on vacation. True to my zodiac sign, Pisces, I am a dreamer and hopeless romantic.
